Everything you need to know about CPD tracking for Irish psychotherapists
IAHIP members need 50 CPD hours per year (250 hours over 5 years). Category A (Training & Workshops) requires a minimum of 50 hours over the 5-year cycle. The hours are flexible across years - you don't need exactly 50 each year, but must reach 250 by your reaccreditation deadline.
IAHIP has 9 CPD categories (A-I):
Accredited IACP members need 30 CPD hours per year. This includes COMPULSORY Category A (Supervision Received) with 10 hours minimum, plus 20 hours from other approved categories. Pre-accredited members also need 10 hours supervision annually.
APCP members need 30 CPD hours per year. You must attend at least ONE APCP training event/workshop per year (some sources say 2) as part of your 30 hours. There's also an annual €200 CPD fee, and renewal deadline is January 31st each year.
ICP members can choose: 50 hours per year OR 250 hours over 5 years. The flexible 5-year cycle is popular. Requirements are implemented through ICP's sectional bodies (humanistic, psychoanalytic, systemic, CBT, etc.), so check with your specific section.

Yes! If you're a member of multiple associations (e.g., both IAHIP and IACP), the same CPD activity can count towards each body's requirements as long as it meets their specific category criteria. For example, a 6-hour workshop can count as Category A for both IAHIP and IACP.
MyCPDLog makes this easy: Simply link the same CPD entry to multiple goals (e.g., "IAHIP Reaccreditation" and "IACP Annual CPD"). The system automatically tracks hours for each association.
